Who we are and what we’re about

Attic Theatrics was created by designer and theatrical story teller, Zachary Gipson. The mission is to create safe atmospheres for creatives to explore the art and craft of storytelling with an emphasis on cultivating an appreciation for performance and design.

A letter from Zachary,

Can you imagine discovering an old hat in the attic? Maybe a dusty fur coat, crooked cane, or a grey broom? Now, think of a time when you could turn that broom into your own flying device! With a flick of the wrist that cane is your own silver sword or a wand for your magic spells. As you don the coat you let out a roar and you have transformed yourself into a beast to be reckoned with. And the hat… imagine the possibilities. I hold those possibilities dear to me. You see, I believe in the power of play. Through play, we learn more about ourselves and the world around us. It is my experience that people sometimes forget what it means to play. We often find ourselves under academic pressure or stuck on some sort of media device and grow farther away from play. With Attic Theatrics I want to remind us all about the importance of play and how it can help us connect one another through storytelling, plays, musicals, and staged readings. By attending one of our productions you will be supporting local artists and helping build the community theatre scene in Marshall County.

It would bring me the most joy to see smiling and enjoying one of our productions. If you would like to support Attic Theatrics as an underwriter or sponsor, please reach out to AtticTheatrics@gmail.com. Until then, see you at the theater.
